Nice tips everybody ! I use the following, now I understand inferior method:
1. Shift-draw a circle.
2. Ctrl+R and drag a horizontal and a vertical guide to cross at the circle's center.
3. Select the Star tool and make a star with as many rays as you need, say 360 ( Double left click with the shape tool in an empty area ). Illustrator will automatically make the star with even-spaced rays.
4. Place the star in the middle of the circle, rotate it until the vertical guide goes trough a ray.
5. Drag a new vertical guide to the center and rotate it to the first ray clockwise after the one that goes trough the vertical guide.
6. You now have a rotation point ( the center of the circle ) and a degree of rotation - between the vertical guide and the tilted one.

This method is good for quick compass and straightedge constructions, but I think the Blend method triumphs them all.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('10413','stanev','Nice tips everybody !
Thanks for the useful tips, here it is my process I think it worth to share.

Let's say a 600px circle with 12 multiples 10 x 100px rectangles:

1. Draw the rectangle, change his reference point to the top.
2. Duplicate and position his Y as 600px - his height (100px) = 500px.
3. Next, group the two rectangles and applied a transform effect.
4. On the Transform Dialog Box type the number of wished objects (12) / 2 -1 = 5
5. And set the angle as 360 / 12.

Hope it helps!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('9868','tencel','Thanks for the useful tips, here it is my process I think it worth to share.\r\n\r\nLet\'s say a 600px circle with 12 multiples 10 x 100px rectangles:\r\n\r\n1.
actually I wrote it wrong in my previous post
update: 1 pt in Illustrator CS 5 = 2.05 ruler Unit in FontLab

Thanks a lot Casimir.
This is a great way too. Nice addition. I saw somewhere Mordy Golding show this one distributing the EU stars.
I just had to break this Transform Effect code.

By the way: I am making a tutorial on how I drew this watch. It will appear here very soon.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('8170','admin','Thanks a lot Casimir. \r\nThis is a great way too.
